Build railways between settlements and production sites on Atlas. Its 1:1000 real-world map provides the terrain, while Create trains carry players and materials between stations.
Use the map to identify mountains, water crossings and neighbouring territories. The shortest straight line is not always the easiest route to build. Inspect difficult sections in the game before laying long stretches of track, and agree on access around existing settlements.
An industrial station needs warehouse access; a town station needs a convenient connection to its streets. Leave room for trains and additional tracks. If the platform is far from the recipient, the final part of the delivery still needs a separate solution.
Run a train between two stations, then check loading and unloading. Extend a larger network in sections with clear stops. This makes problems in the track or schedule easier to locate than commissioning every branch at the same time.

Before you join.
How can I find an existing railway?
Inspect the region on the map and ask players whether the line is operating. Agree on access with its owners before using it.
Can I lay track through another player's territory?
Follow the owner's permissions and Atlas's rules. Agree on bridges, tunnels and station approaches as well as the rails themselves.
How do I plan a railway across the Earth map?
Compare a direct route with one following a valley or coast. Check elevation and station space in-game; the shortest line on a map is not always easiest to build.
