Build railways, stations and Create trains on Astra. Connect a base to a resource site or run a passenger line for friends. Install the pack through MARALYS and join for free.
Choose two places you already travel between regularly. Lay a short route and test it before building a large station. Curves, approaches and room for the train matter more than the facade; rebuilding a finished platform around a poorly planned track is frustrating.
For a freight line, decide where materials enter the train and where they leave it. Test the stops and their order on a small route. If cargo is not ready at one station, the resulting wait affects the entire service rather than just that station's warehouse.
Agree on track routes and crossings with neighbours. Leave room for another train and future station expansion. Named stops, understandable junctions and agreed access to other bases are more useful than an unplanned collection of rails across the map.

Good to know
Before you join.
Does the first train need a freight station?
No. Start with a passenger connection between two bases. Add material loading once the route and its stops work.
Can my first train carry passengers?
Yes. A short connection between two bases is a reasonable first project. Add freight loading and extra stations after the basic route works.
What should I test before building a long railway?
Build a short route with two stations. Check movement, stops and loading before extending the working design to the main route.
