Build a short belt line with filters and feed it a mixed batch of items. Include a container for anything outside your chosen categories. Test what happens when one section fills up before connecting the system to a busy production line.
Put outgoing supplies near a road or loading area. Keep enough space for manual access: sometimes a player needs one component rather than a full shipment. On a shared base, separate factory reserves from materials everyone can take for construction.
